on September 7, 2019 — at the Abbaye de Sainte Croix in Salon-de-Provence, France
Groom & Bride
Cody Pope
Cody couldn't imagine the world without Kim. After having lived and travelled from Sri Lanka to Nairobi with her, he's eager to continue their adventures around the world and in life together. He first fell truly and deeply in love with her during their time together in Mozambique, where—after having rescued and raised a chick named Hugo—she cried as she left the baby bird and Cody for a new job in New York.
When Kim and Cody first started dating, Kim's views of France, while not negative, were mostly meh. But with great effort, and a modicum of luck, Cody is happy that Kim has finally come around to the great nation, and has agreed to marry him there in the fall. He's very much looking forward to the wedding, the food, and the wine with friends and family.
Kimberly Smith
Kim will never forget the night she met Cody. While she never expected to meet and fall in love with an American boy from Michigan at a Latin American Students' Association party, stranger things have happened! Kim and Cody have already had a lifetime of adventures together and she loves that she has found someone to travel the world with. Some of her favorite memories with Cody include driving through the night with a pangolin in Mozambique, scuba diving in Greece, and visiting Cody’s grandfather’s village in Romania.
Kim is so thankful that Cody is a master at turning their house into a home wherever they go—even if it is full of flying cockroaches! Cody has turned their tiny New York apartment into one of her favorite places on earth (don't worry there are no flying cockroaches in NYC, mostly). Finally, she is so happy to have found someone who loves to completely geek out as much as she does. She cannot wait to marry Cody in France!
